Dr Carl Samuel is a dedicated clean energy strategist with over 10 years of experience in public utilities, specialising in renewable energy research and innovation. Holding a PhD in Energy from Waste and an MBA, Carl has successfully managed multi-million-pound programmes, including the EPSRC Impact Acceleration at Newcastle University. His expertise involves using strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making to facilitate the bridging of academic, governmental, and industrial in order to realise sustainable solutions and support local job creation. In his current role as Northern Net Zero Accelerator Project Manager, Carl is committed to advancing impactful, place-based Net Zero initiatives across the North East, Teesside, and Humber regions by fostering collaborations across academia, industry, and public, private, and third sectors.
