NNZA: Closing the Performance Gap: Building Decarbonisation Partnerships across the Humber Region.

Project Lead: Dr Cheng Zeng

Institution: University of Hull.

Partners: RECKITT BENCKISER HEALTHCARE (UK) LIMITED, HULL TRUCK THEATRE COMPANY LIMITED.

Amount: £ 64k

Scheme: Fostering Partnerships.

Theme/Area: Integration into End Use Sectors/Net Zero/Circular Economy Transition (eg. products, supply chain, end-users).

Brief Description: This project empowers the Humber region to accelerate non-domestic building decarbonisation through cross-sector collaboration. By uniting business, academia, and community partners, it will demonstrate how digital modelling, real-time monitoring, and stakeholder-led actions can close the gap between building design and operation. Reckitt’s Hull R&D office and Hull Truck Theatre will serve as regional exemplars, trialling low-cost, scalable solutions to reduce carbon emissions. The results, shared through regional events, story series, and a Practical Energy Briefing Pack, will give local authorities, schools, SMEs, and community organisations the tools and confidence to act, driving regional progress toward a net-zero built environment.
