Brief Description: Through a joint effort between Newcastle University (NU) and Northern Gas Networks (NGN), this project aims to remove the main barrier to heat pump adoption by empowering homeowners with accurate, personalised forecasts of long-term ownership costs to support more informed decision-making. By combining our strengths in AI, energy supply, and existing investments and facilities, the project directly responds to the urgent need to accelerate heat pump uptake as a central pathway for heat decarbonisation in the North East and the wider UK.
